The Help [Review]

The Help is one of those stories that needs to told. It’s a plus when the acting and directing were superb. The screenplay was adapted adeptly creating a powerful and incredible film.

As an American it’s important to never forget the way “the land of free” treated a group of human beings for so many years. No matter what you think about the politics of today or what feelings phrases like “reverse racism” create inside of you, you need to know how important it is that American cinema continues to produce powerful art like this. We don’t need to produce another version of Roots every year, but we do need to find new and creative ways to honestly depict how African Americans were treated in this country from pre-1776 to the present.

I’d prefer if it were done in this manner.
