Weekly Metal Preview for 04/05/2019

Bands are starting to release albums. Those dry early year weeks are fading into spring and the list of releases is getting larger. That means an article like this that pulls it all together is becoming more and more necessary.

Well here it is a preview of the metal, hard rock and hardcore albums coming out on Friday April the 6th, at least the ones I deem worth to write about. Like always these are compiled by using a list of my own calendar and also using theprp.com release list. If you just want a list of albums coming out please go there. That website also is one of the quickest around at reporting news in the world of heavy music.

The first week in April has a ton of subgenres being represented. No big doom metal but everything from Christian metal to pagan folk metal is being released. And of course the standards like black metal from veterans 1349 and various threads of death metal from Ceremony of Silence’s more brutal style to Wormwitch and their death metal with light thrash and black metal blast beat influence.

The biggest release of the week is Periphery with their new album Hail Stan. They somehow walk the line between djent, progressive, brutal and catchy. They are not for everyone but everyone should see them live
